NSRAA Salmon Bake & Hatchery Tour

NSRAA will be offering hatchery tours and a BBQ lunch at Medvejie Hatchery on Saturday, July 16th.  Lunch will consist of barbecued King Salmon, baked potato, green salad, rolls, watermelon and non-alcoholic drinks.  Tickets are $15.00 per person- CASH or CHECK ONLY and can be purchased during office hours at NSRAA- 1308 Sawmill Creek Road. (8-5 Mon-Fri) We are providing two tours on Saturday for you to choose from. Tour 1 9:00am – 12:15pm Tour 2 12:30pm – 4:00pm. NSRAA’s 2021 Spring Board of Directors Meeting will be held on Monday and Tuesday,  March 8-9, 2021 via a ZOOM Meeting, with limited participation in Sitka in the NSRAA Board Room. The meeting will begin at 9:00 am. The public is invited to attend, but, due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be limited public seating available. Please call 907-747-6850 if you have questions. NSRAA’s 2020 Fall Board of Directors Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2020 via a ZOOM Meeting, with limited participation in Sitka in the NSRAA Board Room. Brood Collection Successful; Deep Inlet to Re-open

Operations Manger Adam Olson coordinated broodstock collection over the weekend. The operation was a success, with an estimated 33,000 chum caught and transported  to Medvejie on two tenders, the Debbie Sue and the Grace C.  The seiners Kalliste, Legacy, El Dorado and Reiver caught the fish and did a great job keeping them alive for transport. Thanks to all involved for your hard work. Numbers of chum swimming into Bear Cove have improved over the past week. At this point we are optimistic that we’ll have enough fish for broodstock needs. Chum eggtakes are set to begin Wednesday.
