2024 Spring Troll Fisheries Data

Spring Troll openings provide trollers access to hatchery Chinook as they return in May and June. Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) management attempts to maximize the harvest of enhanced Chinook and minimize the harvest of wild and non-Alaskan (“treaty”) fish. Openings are set based on the percentage of Alaska hatchery fish in the catch for each area, with a limit of treaty fish for the spring season.

This page contains preliminary data for this year’s Spring fishery. It’s purpose is to provide a brief overview of the fishery and to show NSRAA contributions to the fishery.
