Deep Inlet Update – 29 August ’17

The report from Deep Inlet is there are 18 trollers fishing, the first day re-opening after the closure for cost recovery. I have no reports of how the harvest is going, but spotter pilots are seeing plenty of fish.

The sex ratio from the Saturday August 26 cost recovery was 46% male, close to what we expected. The total return as of today is approximately 1.2 million with an in-season regression generated forecast of 1.6 million chum (broodstock, cost recovery, and common property). Seine catch might be 150,000 fish on Wednesday with another 140,000 fish in Bear Cove for broodstock plus, leaving ~100,000 chum to be caught from Thursday August 30 through the end of the run.
